About the Position

The Leader in Me Instructor will be responsible for the following:

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate Leader In Me Curriculum for scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade
• Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the grade level that includes different learning styles, abilities, and interests

• Assess student progress towards learning targets, objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents/guardians, and administration.
• Use available technology to enhance student learning.
• Communicate learning goals to students and parents or guardians in a well-planed and organized manner.
• Establish classroom routines and procedures in a positive manner conducive to effective instruction.

• Prepare lesson plans, instruct and grade assignments
• Prepare quarterly grades for scholars
• Ensure all classes have Leader in Me Materials for in class instruction and collaborate with Leader in Me Coach and Principal for school-wide accountability
• Manage and organize the student leadership coalition
• Assist with instructing leadership demonstrations at staff Professional Development meetings

• Participate in grade level and/or school wide professional learning activities.
• Document and proactively attempt to resolve issues related to student behavior and/or attendance.
• Reflect continually on teaching and professional practice.
• Supervise classroom and/or other students in the school in adherence with state laws.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by the school and law.
• Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Education or related subjects
• At least two (2) years of teaching/facilitation experience required
• Skilled in Microsoft Office
• Skilled in Google Suite
• Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with K-8 populations
• Certified 7 Habits Certification or Experience facilitating
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to professionally and effectively communicate with scholars, educators, and parents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills
