More about the Residency Program:

This program is meant for RN new grads looking to start their career with UnityPoint at Home. Work side by side with a RN Case Manager in the field and extend the training and education you already have with simulations and real life experiences. This Residency Program is a one year commitment and is a full-time position which includes full-time pay and benefits. The program is meant to prepare new RNs for the RN Case Manager role once they have completed the program.

The RN Resident will learn how to plan, organize and direct home hospice care services. Will initiate, and implement care primarily in the patients home environment or hospice inpatient unit setting. The Hospice RN fulfills the role of skilled communicator, educator, leader and motivator. The Hospice RN ensures that high standards of patient care are met at all times.

The Home Care RN uses clinical nursing knowledge, physical assessment, teaching and procedural skills to deliver high quality patient care in the patients place of residence. The RN contributes to the development of the home health plan of care. The RN delivers patient care directed by the physician as established in the home health plan of care that is consistent with clinical best practices and results in high quality, improved outcomes and exceptional patient experience.

4. The Nurse Residency Program helps you grow along with other new RNs in your cohort, and meet regularly with experienced mentors, to offer support and socialization into your new role.
5. The changing needs of your patients and their conditions mean that youll be utilizing a variety of skills. If the patient is new, youll begin with assessments and create their care plan. As you progress in our Residency Program, your experience increases and from there youll gain autonomy in deciding the best care for each patient
