We Need…

a copywriter that can craft a clever headline, wax poetic about target audiences, present bold brand manifestos for clients to rally behind and give voice to an entire website. And that’s just on Monday.

The long and short of it is we need someone who can write the long and short of it all.

You Are...

willing to do it all. Traditional, digital, branding… even out-of-left-field “this isn’t even advertising” copy. Especially out-of-left-field “this isn’t even advertising” copy. You’re excited to work with art directors, designers, producers and account leads; anyone that needs your help.

You Have…

  • 3 years of agency experience. 
  • A portfolio showcasing strong copywriting skills across a variety of mediums, as well as an ability to conceive and execute thoughtful creative concepts and long-form.
  • A love for the process, not just the finished product.
  • An attention to detail. You know the rules of writing, and you know when you can break them.
  • A willingness to learn from friends, colleagues and even strangers to better your craft.
  • The confidence to say yes to an intimidating project, and the humility to ask for help when you need it.

You Will...

  • Play a lead role in starting a project off with an incredibly strong position and coming up with surprising, insightful, on-brand concepts
  • Brainstorm creative concepts with the team, developing original campaigns, and represent the writer’s perspective in client presentations
  • Take stewardship, in collaboration with the CD, over the big picture — ensuring that projects ladder up to the established strategy
  • Be a role model for radical collaboration which requires a foundation of trust, respect and shared ownership across the team
  • Encourage collaboration with Designers, Strategists and Creative Directors
  • Play a role model in creating a great creative culture (we have amazing creatives—help them get even better)
  • Continue elevating your copywriting craft, looking for ways to apply it in new, strategic ways
  • Play the lead role in Struck’s writing discipline and provide best practices to the team
  • Be a hub of knowledge-sharing in the company
  • Play the ambassador to Struck’s design-thinking methodology – guiding teams through a human-centered, collaborative and iterative approach
  • Be a mentoring resource to junior copywriters both informally (impromptu advice) and formally (regularly scheduled check-in sessions)
  • Help to foster the talents of our writers in every area, both leading by example and sharing your knowledge and experiences.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in marketing, digital, social media, branding and advertising and how they can be applied to our clients’ businesses
  • Look for opportunities in speaking engagements and networking where you use your writing and conceptual expertise.
  • Direct client interaction with the ability to build relationships and understand client vision
  • Stay resilient through change: continue to dig deep and create outstanding work despite difficult deadlines and client demands
  • Contribute to growing individual client business
  • Take the creative lead on appropriately sized projects (with limited CD supervision), crafting presentations and selling work directly to clients
