Strongbridge LLC is seeking a SQL Database Developer to join our team in Sterling, VA. Be a part of a team whose mission it is to save lives, prevent injuries and reduce economic costs due to road traffic and crashes. Strongbridge designs, develops, operates, and maintains the systems that collect, analyze, and report all crashes that occur on U.S. roadways, and identifies and tracks vehicle recall information from manufacturers, and interfaces with other agencies’ systems to report specific roadway and commercial driver accident records. The systems and data that Strongbridge provides are used to derive root causes of accidents, and develop strategies to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities.

The SQL DBD will be responsible for designing and implementing databases for the federal government customer. The DBD will also create SQL objects (Tables/Views/Stored Procedures etc.) and work with other developers to optimize SQL queries and identify and resolve SQL server performance issues. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Potential candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, be EITHER a US Citizen, Green Card holder OR EAD that does not require employer sponsorship AND have lived in the US for at least three years consecutively.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for database development and support in MS SQL environment including performance tuning, query optimization, and using SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Responsible for scheduling backups and restoring from backups
• Work with SQL Server Reporting services (SSRS)
• Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constraints)
• Documentation skills for SQL processes and procedures

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area
• 4 years of MS SQL Server Database Development experience writing T-SQL, stored procedures, View, User-defined functions (UDF) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• 2 years of experience trouble shooting common database issues

Desired:

• Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications
• Knowledge of database encryption and clustered environment
