At Strive for Independence, we provide home care services in the Northeast Ohio area to individuals with developmental disabilities.

We staff mostly afternoons and evenings, but do have weekend shifts as well. Some shifts may also be during the day for transportation, skill building, and services during work call-offs or shutdowns.

We are seeking positive, empathetic, and involved individuals to join our team as part-time Direct Support Professionals.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them thrive and achieve their goals.

What you will do:

You will be helping people in their homes, helping them stay as independent as possible.

- Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes and communities.

- Assist individuals in developing and strengthening social skills.

- Create and implement personalized support plans based on individual needs and goals.

- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other support networks 

-Transport clients to and from their home into the community

We help people with their personal care, medications, and household tasks, but it is so much more than that. We are a voice for our people, letting them guide us in what is important to them. We keep them safe but allow them to be themselves. We take them out into the world and let them experience it for themselves.

All you need to help us help others is:

-Be at least 18 years of age

-Have a High school diploma or GED

be willing to undergo a background check.

-Be willing and able to transport clients into the community, have a driver’s license, and auto insurance

-Two or more years of experience with people with developmental disabilities is ideal. 

Compassion working with family and natural supports that are around the individual is a must.
