Place of Performance:
The services will be performed within the Health Services Department at FCI Beckley located at 1600 Industrial Park Road, Beaver, WV, 25813
Schedule:
These services will be required five (5) days per week, normally consisting of 8, one (1) hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. The facility is expected to require an average of 40 sessions per week. The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will be responsible for defining each weekly schedule. The schedule is subject to change based on the variable needs of the institution and the unpredictable nature of the correctional environment. Upon agreement, any changes to the schedule must be coordinated with the COR assigned. However, the daily “call-out” will dictate the exact schedule and sessions required. A mutually agreed upon schedule will be determined following award. The Contractor may be subject to schedule changes and must be flexible. The Contractor will be available for emergencies as necessary. Due to the nature of the correctional setting WV, 25813
Education and Experience:
The medical nursing assistant shall possess specialty training from an approved accredited Medical Nursing Assistant Program. A certificate of completion is strongly recommended. The CNA shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Heart Association and have a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing certified nursing assistant services Duties include by not limited to:
• Printing and managing call out lists • General triage procedures, vital signs, blood glucose checks
• Providing general assistance to nurses, mid-level providers and physicians • Reading PPDs
• Completion and documentation of NMOS orders • Tracking inmates that do not show for call outs
• Stocking supplies• Charting observations and tasks completed in the inmate’s medical records chart
• Assist with sanitation of patient care areas and
• Observe infection control procedures and universal precautions.
• Other duties as assigned by the on-duty nurse/Health Services Administrator
