Primary Functions (What)
  • Provide technical direction on equipment design and build.
  • Develop controls to provide consistent equipment.
  • Supports Controls related issues on manufacturing floor.
What Success Looks Like (How)
The Controls Engineer’s role is to support Electrical/Controls design, quoting, implementation, and validation equipment/systems necessary to efficient manufacturing. The Controls Engineer is always looking for ways to improve processes and fix issues. This can be done effectively through continuous improvement, new processes, and implementing proper systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Well versed in IEC 61131-3 languages, specifically structured text programming, ladder logic and function blocks
  • Understanding of closed loop motion control using robotic and servo systems
  • Knowledge and experience with ABB Robots
  • Knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (micrologix/CompactLogix)
  • Knowledge in OPC Server applications, Networking and Subnetting of Networks
  • Knowledge and experience with Cognex vision systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Beckhoff PLCs and components a plus
  • Experience using AutoCad Electrical or similar electrical print software
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and highly motivated
  • Well organized, project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication with customers, both internal and external
  • Understanding of injection molding or similar press equipment would be a plus
  • Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree 
Physical Demands
In this position you may be required to routinely walk and stand for extended periods of time. You may also be required to lift and carry items weighing less than 40 lbs. While performing this position, you will often be exposed to moving or mechanical parts and moderate noise levels found in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
Approximately 50 percent office and 50 percent production floor
