Food Management Search is Hiring a Quality CMM Lab Manager Near Memphis, TN

We have an awesome opportunity for a Quality Lab Assistant Manager with an Automotive Tier 1 Company. Duties

  • Train and coach current Quality Lab Team
  • Oversee and train others on the Ferro Arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM) operations
  • Manages all aspects of quality.
  • Maintains TS certification.
  • Responsible for department personnel.
  • Support and development of documentation to support customer & internal requirements.
  • Analyzes processes for continuous improvements and failure modes.
  • Teach team leaders and team members in basic fundamental skills and facilitate Job Instruction Training (JIT).
  • Reading instruction manuals, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Schedule task lists and track progress.
  • Negotiates appropriate quality levels with customers.
  • Analyzes processes for stability and capability.
  • Implement plans to control and maintain safety, quality, 5S, cost, and efficiency for assigned areas.
  • Plan, supervise, and manage your lab team capacity
  • Maintains both supplier and customer quality standards.
  • Effectively facilitate problem solving and resolution.
  • Reports and presents quality information including quality improvement plans.
  • Countermeasure activities for quality issues.
  • Interprets company policies to team members and enforces safety regulations.
  • Responsible for quality team performance.
  • Performs quality audits.
  • Primary contact for all supplier, internal, and customer related issues.
  • Builds strong relationships with customers, suppliers, production, management and all team members.
  • Analyzes in-process defects, investigates root cause and develops countermeasures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Business, or related field required, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 6 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably automotive.
  • 2 years of leadership experience as supervisor in a manufacturing quality lab environment.
  • Experienced with CMM equipment
  • Experience working with TS16949 or IATF16949 quality standards
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • General understanding and practical work experience with automotive quality systems and processes.
  • Must be able to multi-task, handle diversity, and provide leadership through problem resolution.
  • Possess knowledge of inspection standards and check fixtures.
  • Knowledgeable in trade terminology, quality management and control systems and techniques, manufacturing processes including material controls, workflow, scheduling, kanban, and machine operations.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment working with multiple departments and prioritize activities.
  • Flexible in a constantly changing production environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Have strong organization, time management, and planning skills.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications
  • Advanced education / training is a plus.
  • Professional industry certifications are a plus.
  • Stamping and welding operations experience is a plus
