Assists with maintaining physical and electronic filing systems, including data entry associated with the file process.2. Performs record maintenance, including scanning and indexing documents and data entry concerning imaged documents.3. Copies or prints files and assembles documents and/or files as required4. Responds to inquiries from the public and partnering agencies to provide responsive public service. 5. Completes database inquiries related to incoming documents.6. Stamps, sorts, and distributes incoming mail; collects, routes and delivers outgoing mail and performs messenger services between divisions and within the County.7. Attends work in a regular and timely manner.8. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following: High School graduate or equivalent and currently enrolled in post-secondary courses in a legal, law enforcement, human services, paralegal, administrative support, business, customer service or related program OR high school graduate or equivalent and six months of volunteer or paid work experience in a legal, law enforcement, human services, paralegal, administrative support, business, customer service or related fieldMust have experience using Microsoft Outlook and WordMust possess the ability to comply with Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension security requirementsPreferred Experience Beyond Minimum Qualifications: Processing daily mail Operating digital copiers and printersCustomer service experience in a fast-paced environmentWorking with confidential materialsDesirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1. Knowledge of criminal/juvenile/civil justice systems.2. Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.3. Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and technology.4. Knowledge of electronic document management and mailing processes.5. Skilled in the use of copiers, facsimile machine, and other office equipment.6. Ability to promote positive image of the department through friendly and effective communication and customer service. 7. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.9. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
