Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a Medical Equipment Management Program (MEMP) Coordinator. CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the North side of Madison. CWC also has a 24/7 fitness center, free parking, and is on the Madison Metro bus route.

This position will typically work Monday-Friday with daytime hours. We offer a team-oriented atmosphere and a focus on work-life balance.
Position Summary
As the MEMP Coordinator, you will serve as the primary interpreter of the MEMP state and federal regulations of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) related to medical equipment documentation and preventative maintenance. This position is also responsible for:
  • Reviewing and understanding of regulations, design, implementation and maintenance of policy and standard operating procedure (SOP) to assure compliance.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data relevant to compliance and the implementation of any applicable modifications to the SOP based on the data analysis and review.
  • Serving as the primary liaison of the MEMP and the clinical, financial, facility services, risk management and information technology business areas of CWC.
This position must also consider quality control, end users requirements, resident care and patient institute operations, research, analysis, authority, compatibility, and maintenance of medical equipment and adherence to existing and/or changing regulations in hospitals and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).
Salary Information
The starting salary is $28.00-$32.00 (approximately $58,000 - $66,500 annually), plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as Program and Policy Analyst and is in pay schedule and range 07/04.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
  • Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining an inventory or similar management program including policies, procedures or SOPs relevant to the program.
  • Experience conducting routine and preventative maintenance of specialized equipment and training staff on use of equipment.
  • Experience with competitive purchasing and basic budgetary principles, such as utilization of state contracts or conducting cost benefit analysis.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining a program for specialized medical equipment .
  • Experience researching and interpreting or applying the compliance of governing authorities such as, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Joint Commission and the Wisconsin Division of Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary team collaboration and requirements gathering for consideration of institute wide medical equipment use.
