Construction Project Coordinator 3
Location: Tumwater, WA

This recruitment is for one (1) full-time, permanent, Construction Project Coordinator 3 position for Parks Development located in Tumwater, Washington. Working hours are generally Monday- Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with the option to telework. The default assigned work location of all Parks positions – both on-site and telework eligible positions – is within the State of Washington. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. This position may require you to travel as needed to accomplish assignments.
As a construction project coordinator, your primary responsibilities include managing consultants through the design and construction phases of capital improvement projects. This critical role requires an experienced construction project coordinator with good communication skills and a working knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of architectural & engineering design, project management, and construction for project ranging from $250,000 to $5,000,000 . Our ideal candidate has an eye for detail and a heart for public service.
About the position:
This position reports to the Facilities Construction Project Coordinator 4 in the Facilities Management Team and directly supports the mission by providing facilities/project management services for proposed future capital projects. Additionally, this position coordinates, directs and reviews the development of contract documents, assessments, reports and studies by Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms for park construction projects. Furthermore, this position provides construction management services and/or A&E construction management services for park construction projects. Lastly, this position develops cost estimates and cost analysis required for capital budget development and project costs.

Duties

Some of what you will do:

  • Responsible for all facets of capital project functions including the oversight of planning, design, and permitting for various capital park construction projects.
  • Solicit, develop, and negotiate AE consultant agreements, personal service contracts, and interagency agreements.
  • Provides construction management services for capital construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Bidding support and award evaluation services.
  • Develops capital budget submittals, including scopes of work, project cost estimates, and assists in the development of operational impacts for proposed capital projects.
  • Provide Capital Budget System (CBS) ready capital project information.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Qualified candidates will meet allof the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree* in architecture, engineering, construction management, landscape architecture, or closely related field,
  • AND four (4) years of relevant professional experience
  • AND three (3) years of experience in developing and preparing design & construction documents in the office of a licensed or registered architect or engineer. Experience managing architectural, site, and/or utility construction projects.
  • Additional relevant experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A professional license/certification in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, or construction management.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Asset Management and ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge of state government and Parks rules and regulations.
