This position serves as a/the (System Operations Controller) performing basic computer operating functions using operating system commands to monitor data processing environments serving DoIT supported agencies. In this role you will perform basic job control procedures including review, research and analysis work to resolve scheduling or job stream errors using Job Control Language (JCL). In addition, you will work closely with technical personnel including application, system programming staff and production control daily with review and reporting of batch processing issues. 35% Under general supervision, serves as a System Operations Controller for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT):
30% Performs job control procedures including review, research and analysis work to resolve scheduling or job stream errors using Job Control Language (JCL), available documentation, and procedures:
25% Assists and works closely with technical personnel, including application and system programming and production control staff, to review and report problems or errors with batch jobs and schedules:

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
2. Requires one (1) year of related data processing experience.
Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
1. One (1) year of professional experience with automated archival and report distribution software such as Document Direct/Mobius or similar.
2. Working knowledge of JCL, TSO, or ISPF.
3. Working knowledge of automated scheduling software such as CA-Scheduler, or similar.
4. Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
5. Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
6. Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
