State of Georgia is Hiring a Financial Examiner 1 Near Atlanta, GA

The LGS Division seeks to fill two (2) Financial Examiner 1 positions to support the Unclaimed Property Unit. This position is primarily responsible for performing accounting and fiscal control functions for the UCP Holder Team. The role requires a keen eye for detail and bookkeeping skills. Most of the workday will involve data entry and the reconciliation of financial data.

Duties include but may not be limited to:

* Completing manual and electronic UCP reports

* Reconciling holder reports against receipts and other data and contacting holders to resolve errors when they are discovered.

* Providing customer service via phone and email to holders to resolve their questions and concerns.

* Assisting with vault inventory processing.

Given this role provides leadership support to front-line Claims Examiners responsible for reviewing documentation, attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to success in this role. The selected candidate will be expected to have proficiency in working with spreadsheets and using computerized, web- enhanced applications to enter and research information.

Entry Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field (Business, Accounting, Finance, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience

* Ability to multi-task under tight and compressed deadlines

* Ability to research data using manual and electronic resources to provide resolution to customer issues.

* Ability to verify calculations and other mathematical/financial information.

* Customer Service: Ability to address internal & external customer issues appropriately & courteously, either via phone or email, while respecting business needs

* Teamwork and Cooperation: Ability to promote the team atmosphere and work well with co-workers & leadership, to include cooperative communication styles.

* Accountability: Ability to accept responsibility for one's actions with honesty and integrity, while maintaining credibility and remaining committed to organizational success

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience reviewing claims

* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, converting zip files, and importing documents into various databases.

* Basic accounting skills

* Experience in unclaimed property

Position Status & Pay Grade: Unclassified - Pay Grade J

Hiring Range: $39,970.99 - $46,000

Location: South Meadow Facilities *This is not a remote position and will require an in-office presence with working hours of 8am - 4:45pm, Monday - Friday.
