What you will do:

The Director of Accreditation and Assessment is responsible for activities related to accreditation, authorization, and reauthorization requirements of the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD). The Director is responsible for understanding and facilitating high quality accreditation and compliance efforts for all external accreditation agencies. This role organizes and maintains a portfolio of the requirements and timelines for SEHD programs' external accreditation and authorization and leads accreditation site visits. The director will coordinate accreditation and outcomes assessment work within the SEHD; with other University offices; with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the Department of Higher Education (CDHE), as well as national accreditors such as the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), and the American Psychological Association (APA). The Director will develop and oversee the systems infrastructure necessary to organize data to demonstrateoutcomes, related to:

  • Our graduates demonstrating required skills and competencies

  • The impact of our graduates on P-12 student learning

  • Our graduates' knowledge of content and content pedagogy

  • Our graduates' performance as educators and human service professionals

  • The persistence of our graduates in the education and human development professions

  • The leadership roles assumed by our graduates

The Director of Accreditation and Assessment provides leadership in the SEHD in building a culture of continuous improvement of student learning and engaging in quality assessment practice. This position provides SEHD specific data collection, management, and reporting of data related to program and student learning outcomes assessment. This position is responsible for meeting the requirements of external program accreditors/ authorizers, required annual Higher Learning Commission (HLC) reporting, and external performance reporting (e.g. Title II, DADC, TEACH Colorado, WIOA, VA, and US News Annual Graduate Program Rankings Report). The Director will support the unique data management, assessment, and reporting needs of the SEHD's ASPIRE to Teach alternative licensure program which includes developing and maintaining the ASPIRE web app and database system, automation and distribution of program assessments, and creating and maintaining data dashboards. Also, this individual will compile program assessment data to support regular continuous improvement discussions in the School of Education & Human Development.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Earned master's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Professional experience in institutional research, outcomes assessment research, and /or applied statistical research is required.

  • Proven success leading accreditation efforts.

  • Supervision and management experience.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Earned master's or doctorate degree in an area that includes significant preparation in educational measurement and evaluation methods (e.g. REM, Sociology, Psychology or Education) from an accredited institution.

  • Eight or more years of experience in directing measurement and evaluation activities in educational-based contexts.

  • Three or more years of experience with statistics/quantitative data analysis utilizing SPSS, R, or a comparable software application to support research and assessment.

  • Two or more years of experience creating data visualizations in Tableau, R Shiny, Power BI, or similar data visualization software.

  • Experience with the technical aspects of general and survey research, including research purpose and design, statistical and research methods, data collection and/or extraction, and data analyses and evaluation.

  • Experience working with educational assessment and surveys related to higher education accreditation.

  • Experience with planning and self-study systems and/or assessment management systems such as Student Learning, and Licensure; Taskstream / Watermark; Tavera or similar.

  • Expertise with data collection processes and systems such as Qualtrics, Slate, and Formstack.

  • Understanding of Relational Database Management (RBM) concepts, including SQL (Structured Query Language) and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

  • Experience with business-intelligence concepts, tools, and strategies such as Tableau, Cognos, or Power BI.

  • Knowledge of alternative teacher licensure programs in State of Colorado

  • Familiarity with SEHD-related accreditation processes and expectations.

  • Extensive knowledge of measurement and evaluation in educational organizations.

  • Experience leading, planning, and conducting program evaluation research in educational-based contexts.

  • Innovative and collaborative approaches to solving complex problems.

  • Understands (is the subject matter expert) the complex and diverse needs of higher education accreditation in an R1 classified School of Education and Human Development.

  • Takes initiative and learns policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $121,846.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
