Senior Analyst, Supply Chain

This position is located in Reston, VA

This position is not remote work

PURPOSE -

This role requires coordination with logistics carriers and StarKist warehouses to maintain a smooth flow of inbound material and outbound shipments to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and support production schedules.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –

Co-packer order management

  • Ensure PO’s with co-packers are entered according to supply needs with appropriate vendor.
  • Champion new product development alongside StarKist Marketing, Sales and Quality for production at Co-Packers.
  • Release and track orders to 3PL via EDI to ensure timely delivery to distribution centers.
  • Analyze and advise on EDI functionality for order management.
  • Ensure co-packer PO’s are received accurately in SAP.
  • Manage inventory strategy for all co-pack materials.
  • Develop and advise on policies and practices to improve inventory accuracy and service to customer orders. Also, develop, maintain and report on these metrics through SAP.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy of all materials within the StarKist portfolio.
  • Lead and/or participate in special studies and projects as needed for impacting the StarKist Supply Chain.
  • Recommend and implement alternatives to management when service and cost risks are identified.

Logistics & 3PL Analysis

  • Analyze most economical and efficient transportation and distribution services which includes ocean and land transportation, warehousing, to identify cost savings and optimize service.
  • Analyze end-to-end supply chain processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze distribution center performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement best practices and streamline the movement of goods from overseas suppliers to warehouse facilities
  • and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with shipping carriers to optimize freight costs and maintain high service levels.
  • Oversee the inbound logistics process from receiving goods at warehouse facilities to inventory management.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control measures to minimize errors and stockouts.
  • Collaborate with distribution center managers to optimize order fulfillment and shipping processes
  • Monitor and manage the transportation process, working closely with logistics partners
  • Invoice audit and payment of vendors.
  • Compile and analyze KPI metrics to identify opportunity for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to coordinate product displays forecast that align with marketing strategies.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure correct material availability and mange builds for merchandising stands in stores, ensuring timely delivery and set-up.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools to analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES -

  • 5 years of overall experience in Supply Chain.
  • Bachelor Degree required, Masters preferred (Supply Chain, Finance, Business).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with high proficiency in excel.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Experience with international logistics and working with custom brokers an advantage
  • Ability to think strategically across the entire StarKist supply chain to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work productively in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Leadership and negotiation skills necessary to lead project teams and to support business interests with the customer.
  • Highly resilient with results driven attitude.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance.
