Schedule: Monday to Friday; First Shift

Pay Rate : $25.10 per hour

Job Description:

The Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center Equipment Engineering Team is at the forefront of driving competitiveness in optical components, assemblies, and systems. As a Technical Support Engineer I, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our manufacturing equipment to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and Quality teams to address equipment needs and support daily operations.

• Develop innovative solutions to improve equipment uptime and process efficiency, including custom hardware and software design.

• Lead the installation and upgrade of new and existing equipment in collaboration with facilities and engineering teams.

• Conduct calibration of tools, inspection, test, and factory equipment in compliance with industry and company standards.

• Perform testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, computer, laboratory, and scientific systems.

• Collaborate with a team of experienced equipment technicians to support calibration and preventative maintenance activities.

• Utilize engineering drawings, manuals, and documentation to perform tasks effectively.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in calibration of tools, instruments, and equipment in a production or factory environment.

• Strong background in electronics, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work from schematics, written procedures, and oral instructions.

• Mathematical aptitude to work with SI units, derived units, and conversions.

• Familiarity with Traceability Standards and Hierarchy.

• Flexibility to work 2nd and/or 3rd shifts when needed.

Desired Skills:

• ASQ – CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) or similar certification.

• Prior experience with Optical Coating (vacuum) and Diamond Point Turning equipment.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Knowledge of the optics industry.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong team player with a willingness to work overtime occasionally.

Pay Details: $25.10 per hour
