Schedule: Monday to Friday; First Shift
Pay Rate : $25.10 per hour
Job Description:
The Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center Equipment Engineering Team is at the forefront of driving competitiveness in optical components, assemblies, and systems. As a Technical Support Engineer I, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our manufacturing equipment to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and Quality teams to address equipment needs and support daily operations.
Develop innovative solutions to improve equipment uptime and process efficiency, including custom hardware and software design.
Lead the installation and upgrade of new and existing equipment in collaboration with facilities and engineering teams.
Conduct calibration of tools, inspection, test, and factory equipment in compliance with industry and company standards.
Perform testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, computer, laboratory, and scientific systems.
Collaborate with a team of experienced equipment technicians to support calibration and preventative maintenance activities.
Utilize engineering drawings, manuals, and documentation to perform tasks effectively.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in calibration of tools, instruments, and equipment in a production or factory environment.
Strong background in electronics, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work from schematics, written procedures, and oral instructions.
Mathematical aptitude to work with SI units, derived units, and conversions.
Familiarity with Traceability Standards and Hierarchy.
Flexibility to work 2nd and/or 3rd shifts when needed.
Desired Skills:
ASQ – CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) or similar certification.
Prior experience with Optical Coating (vacuum) and Diamond Point Turning equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of the optics industry.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong team player with a willingness to work overtime occasionally.
Required Education:
Associate's Degree
