Job Details Job Title Dishwasher/ Kitchen Assistant Reports To Cook Lead, Sous Chef, Executive Chef Salary Grade N1 FLSA Status Non-exempt Effective Date July 2023 Summary The Kitchen Assistant/ Dishwasher is responsible to assist in the production of balanced meals served to our sheltered/non-sheltered clients and employees. Duties include washing dishes, preparing ingredients, portion control/serving, sanitation, and following food health and safety procedures. Kitchen Assistants are expected to work in a fast-paced environment on their feet for extended periods of time. Operating kitchen equipment is part of a Kitchen Assistants daily responsibility. This may include operating a dish machine, pressure washer, can opener, pallet jack, or meat slicer. In addition, Kitchen Assistants are responsible to follow all department safety protocols and company policies and procedures. Essential Functions
Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
Assisting the cooks with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
Operating kitchen equipment in a safe manor.
Organizing donations.
Pull food from industrial freezers as scheduled.
Storing and rotating food properly.
Portioning and serving food.
•Draw and record chemical levels of dish machine/three-compartment sink.
On time completion of assigned training and policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
•Deep cleaning projects. Qualifications
Past experience assisting in kitchens - Preferred
