This role has a hybrid work schedule. We are looking for candidates located near our Marlborough office as this role will require a commute to the office a minimum of three times per week.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, undertakes all aspects of financial management including financial modeling and analysis as well as oversight of the business intelligence and analytics function in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union.

Essential Functions:

1. Measure, analyze, and report on financial results. Provide analysis of actual and budget variances, monitors key performance indicators and highlights trends. Perform ongoing monitoring of net interest margin and revenue and expenses.

2. Assist the Chief Financial Officer in implementing investment and wholesale funding strategies for the credit union.

3. Support the Asset/Liability modeling function. Partner with external asset/liability consultant on key assumptions and data used to model net interest income, liquidity, cash flows and interest rate risk. Perform various analyses as required or requested.

4. Support the annual budgeting process, with a lead role in managing the balances sheet and interest income and expense forecasts. Partner with the CFO in the completion of and presentation of the budget. Responsible for maintaining and updating data and assumptions in the credit unions budget and forecasting system.

5. Participate in the financial modeling of new products and services and performs costs analysis of such products, services, and programs. Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.

6. Oversees the credit union’s business intelligence environment. Maintain current knowledge of core system database and business intelligence software solution. Promote utilization of the business intelligence platform to provide business lines with ad hoc reporting, analysis and automated delivery of meaningful operational, managerial and financial reporting solutions.

7. Provide ongoing support and direction to the business intelligence reporting analyst. Provides oversight to ensure that data, report parameters, design, validation and delivery of reports, data extracts and analysis are completed accurately and timely.

8. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of financial and operational reporting, budgeting, asset/liability management and analysis.

9. Design new or revise existing reporting policies, procedures and reports that provide effective financial planning, accounting, and reporting.

10. Contribute to a positive work environment and SMCU image by maintaining courteous, respectful, and effective interaction, teamwork and communication with employees and members to enhance positive behaviors and employee satisfaction.

11. Performs related administrative duties as may be assigned or requested.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economic or Business Administration required. At least three years of experience as a financial analyst, required. Prior experience in a financial institution highly desired. Strong financial and modeling capabilities and the ability to present financial data to non-financial individuals required. Strong knowledge of relational databases and business intelligence software. Must be a proactive and an independent thinker. Superior verbal/written and presentation skills and demonstrated knowledge of MS software are required.

Work Environment:

Usual office working conditions with absence of most disagreeable conditions and with occasional exposure to noise.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is required to use hands, handle and feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The individual frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The individual is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch and lift up to fifteen pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000.00USD to $110,000.00USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
