About St. Peter’s Montessori: A staple in the West Valley since 1964, St. Peter's Montessori provides Montessori-based education to students from infancy through 6th grade. Role Description
St. Peter’s Montessori seeks a full-time Elementary School Teacher to lead our mixed age classroom during the 2024-25 school year. This position is a one-year contract with an opportunity to extend based on the preference of the teacher and school. Ages of students within the classroom range from traditional 1st grade – 6th grade. Although a Montessori certification is not required, it is best for the candidate to have knowledge of how to leverage mixed-age classrooms for the benefit of students. The Elementary Teacher is supported by an Assistant Teacher and Reading Specialist. The Elementary Teacher is responsible for teaching students under the methods and guidance of Maria Montessori through a Montessori-based curriculum program (provided) while adhering to state benchmarks related to academic subjects, such as reading, writing and arithmetic, as well as creating lesson plans, grading assignments, and communicating with parents. The Elementary Teacher is also responsible for creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
All candidates must have received the COVID vaccine and successfully pass a background check for consideration.
