Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021 and played its first match at home on June 19, 2021, in the new, 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium in Austin. Austin FC finished the regular season 2nd in the Western Conference, while also making a run to the Western Conference Finals during the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Austin FC is seeking a driven and experienced Director of Social Media who will be responsible for the development, management, and execution of the Club's social media content and platform strategy. This position will be accountable for driving meaningful and measurable impact across the Club's social channels to enhance growth and engagement, while also ensuring that Club partners have a best-in-class social experience.
This position will be based in Austin, TX and the role will be in-person at Austin FC's main office.

You Will:
• Lead the conception, development, and execution of comprehensive social media strategy that supports the overall marketing and business objectives of Austin FC; and
• Manage a team of social media professionals, providing direction to ensure consistency in tone, voice, and brand across all channels; and
• Develop, cultivate, and maintain the Club's content calendar while providing visibility for appropriate internal stakeholders; and
• Oversee the creation and publishing of all social media content; and
• Work closely with fan development team on paid social media efforts to compliment organic programming; and
• Develop content approval strategies and creation guidelines; and
• Demonstrate creativity in presenting the Club's brand across all social media platforms while staying mindful of organizational objectives; and
• Be a first mover or early adopter of new, emerging social platforms, trends and technologies while providing the Senior Vice President of Marketing with recommendations for new engagement opportunities; and
• Work collaboratively with departmental leads within the marketing department, including design, photo, video, fan development, brand and merchandise, communications, and match experience to create integrated social media campaigns that support departmental goals; and
• Work collaboratively with departmental leads outside of the marketing department to deliver on content that supports the achievement of organizational goals in an efficient and timely manner; and
• Develop social listening strategies to keep a pulse on brand sentiment and observation themes, delivering insights to inform decisions around content, tone, and brand strategy; and
• Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Marketing on measurement architecture, including KPIs, and reporting cadence to align with departmental vision and strategy; and
• Provide effective leadership for departmental staff, building a positive culture and providing development opportunities.
You Have:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 5 years of experience in content marketing; past experience in sports and/or entertainment a plus
• An outstanding work ethic and attention to detail
• English language proficiency (Spanish language skills are preferred)
• Ability to think creatively, using inspiration inside and outside the soccer world
• Proficiency in leading a team
• Adeptness with social, content management, and content analytics tools
• Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Experience collaborating with other departments and a demonstrated ability to identify and resourcefully meet their diverse needs
