Experience with bike gear, ski gear, snowboard gear, and clothing coupled with the ability to communicate that knowledge in a supervisory capacity Ability to direct staff, take responsibility, and troubleshoot problems People-oriented with strong Verbal Communication skills Ski and snowboard boot fitting knowledge Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making Ski and snowboard tuning, mounting, and rental experience Interested in expanding personal knowledge about snow sport products Self-motivated and driven to improve Able to work weekends and holidays

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain, encourage and possess “ownership mentality” of their department.
  • Perform employee performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  • Provide a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions.
  • Ensure department and corresponding back stock areas are maintained to company standards.
  • Utilize labor management tools, including effective scheduling, to maximize productivity, profitability and margins
  • Encourage department employees to take ownership for their performance and career development plans; follow up on a regular basis.
  • Provide and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate marketing initiatives and gives timely feedback to buyers and marketing on areas of opportunity.
  • Provide leadership and direction on annual Ski Cruncher Sale – effectively delegates responsibilities to ensure event success.
  • Conduct employee and team meetings as needed.
  • Ensure employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain adequate departmental supplies.
  • Successful candidates should be able to cite significant achievements, demonstrating their ability to handle all aspects of retail operational and merchandising management issues, from the delivery of stock to the store to the final sale of the product to the customer.

  • Knowledge and understanding of retail math principals
  • Ability to lead a successful team in a fast-paced environment, while handling multiple priorities and championing the roll out of new procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of department products and services, and use this knowledge to inspire sales staff and customers to make purchases
  • Ability to motivate and train staff to meet or exceed sales and customer service standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, store staff, buyers, support teams and executive management
  • Ability to handle physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to get the job at hand done.
  • Models Loss Prevention control and compliance procedures
