Sploot Veterinary Care is introducing a brand new approach to veterinary care in the form of Urgent & Primary Care Clinics, and we are currently seeking a talented 1st or 2nd-year Veterinary Student to join us for our Sploot CAMP experiential program and help us provide the ABSOLUTE BEST medical care to our patients.

Position: Veterinary Student Assistant - Sploot CAMP

Location: Multiple locations in Denver, CO

Duration: Customizable programs of 4, 6, or 8 weeks

What you’ll do at Sploot CAMP:

• Work closely with our veterinary team to provide high quality medical care to our patients
• Participate in an individualized externship program to enhance problem-solving, technical, and communication skills
• Work alongside veterinary professionals in various aspects of patient care
• Support doctors and technicians in diagnostic and treatment plans, including surgical procedures
• Learn fear free techniques for patient exams, treatments, and procedures
• Engage in daily hospital nurse duties and responsibilities that provide an elevated level of care and experience for our patients and pet parents
• Real-world experience in primary and urgent care medicine in a small animal practice
• One-on-one mentorship and individualized onboarding to guide your professional development
• Opportunity to focus on specific areas of interest within the veterinary field

• Expect to be included in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments. If there are certain technical skills you are looking to improve on, let us know so we can place emphasis on these areas!

• Currently enrolled as a 1st or 2nd-year student in an accredited DVM program
• You are authorized to work in the United States
• You must carry professional liability insurance. AVMA PLIT liability insurance is free for all student members of the AVMA. You may apply for this coverage on their website.
