AMMON Staffing is currently recruiting a Paralegal with Plaintiff Litigation experience for a well-established Personal Injury Law Office located in downtown Baton Rouge. This is a Direct Hire, Full-Time opportunity with hours 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Job Duties:

• Maintain regular communication with clients.
• Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents for new files.
• Initiate claims, verify coverage, and keep in touch with insurance adjusters for case updates.
• Input and manage health insurance liens.
• Prepare various documents and correspondence including letters of representation, demand letters, and billing inquiries.
• Assist clients in coordinating medical care related to their case.
• Review and interpret medical records and reports.
• Draft settlement demands for attorney review.
• Assist in preparing discovery, including requests to produce and interrogatories.
• Prepare pleadings such as petitions for damages and requests for notice for attorney review.
• Obtain and organize necessary information for each file through client calls and follow-up.
• File complaints, motions, dismissals, and other litigation documents as necessary.
• Prepare documents for hearings, such as Motions to Compel.
• Assist in preparing mediation and trial binders.
• Draft various correspondence.
• Perform various office management duties, including overseeing the courier and some assisting the off-site Bookkeeper with some basic bookkeeping tasks.

Requirements:

• 1-2 Years Paralegal or Legal Secretary Experience
• At least 1 year experience in Plaintiff Litigation
• Typing speed of 60wph
• Proficient in Microsoft Word
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to work in the office (this is not a remote position)

Preferred Skills:

• Office Management experience
• Basic bookkeeping experience
• Quickbooks experience
• Experience in non-litigation, probate, succession, and will work
