Job Title: Building Engineer

Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 21 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum Management is currently seeking to recruit a Building Engineer to support a large government building in downtown Washington, D. C. as supplemental staff. This position is focused on equipment upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment.
• Operate and perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC systems and subsystems.
• Maintain plant and equipment in sound operating condition.
• Perform Refrigerant recovery and recycling.
• Operate Building Energy Management System (EMS) and associated building controls (Metasys experience a plus).
• Interface with building managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction.
• Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders.
• Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required.
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• HVAC Journeyman License a plus
• 5 years’ experience working on commercial HVAC systems
• Completed coursework in HVAC areas
• Universal CFC Certification

COMPETENCIES:

• Must have working knowledge of 480V and below electrical systems, HVAC and plumbing system
• Universal CFC Certification
• Must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Building Operations
• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a government site badge
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
• Valid driver's license.
• Shift is from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
