Description
Growing orthodontic lab looking for an experienced Team Lead to support our pre-production processes. We create smiles for children and adults by making custom-fit, hand-made appliances per their Orthodontist's prescription.

As the Pre-Production Team Lead, your primary duty is to provide effective leadership and direction to ensure the smooth operation of your assigned department. This includes overseeing and coordinating the work of department members, setting priorities, and managing resources efficiently. You are responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that promotes teamwork and excellence. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements within your department. Your duties also involve liaising with other lab departments and stakeholders, facilitating communication, and continually seeking opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance our department's overall productivity and success. This position reports to the Pre-Production Supervisor.
A great candidate would be someone who has Supervisory or Team Lead experience in a manufacturing environment and takes a mentorship approach to motivating and training a team of 10 employees.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Team Lead or Supervisory role, preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED equivalency, or currently enrolled.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time depending upon task being performed.
  • Ability to walk and carry parts, materials, etc. between departments.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to perform and coordinate steady hand and arm movement.
  • Ability to train and mentor department employees.
Requirements

  • Direct Team Lead of 10 employees ensuring daily productivity requirements are met while ensuring safety standards.
  • Organize and direct job rotation while coordinating cross-functional training to support job rotation.
  • Encourage team members and promote a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all jobs performed by team.
  • Ability to understand orthodontic prescription and manufacture appliance per Doctor's design, as well as perform quality inspections for the department.
  • Ability to understand, apply, and train teammates on procedures and work instructions for areas of assignment.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of lab technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's productivity and professional development.
  • Monitor case efficiency, remakes/reworks, complaints, case selection, and housekeeping for department.
  • Ensure safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment are always followed by all team members. Conduct regular safety audits and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure that all laboratory procedures adhere to established quality standards and protocols.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and ensure that all lab equipment is properly calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Manage departmental supplies, maintain an inventory system, and order necessary materials in a timely manner.
  • Review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other documentation as necessary. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Quality Manager with implementation of quality standards and continuous improvement projects.
  • Safeguard and protect the confidentiality of company and patient information as defined by the company's Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Understand and use personal protective equipment where required.
  • Understand how one's performance can impact the success of the organization and product quality.
  • Ability to use computer for scanning and to navigate through company intranet.
