Global Aviation Tech LLC is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Wichita, KS

Global Aviation Tech LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for assembling electrical equipment, reading and interpreting electrical schematics/drawings, instructions, assembling parts and tools as well as fitting electronic components together. The Electrical Technician will also be responsible for testing components using various testing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Routing of wiring bundles on a form board, cutting to specific length, hand cabling of wire bundle to specified lay ratios, installing IDs at specified lengths
  • Stripping back wire at specified lengths and crimping on contacts/wire lugs, use various hand-operated to perform strip/crimp tasks
  • Stripping shielded and/or jacketed wire to specified length, exposing shield and/or inner conductor, installing solder sleeves, which may or may not include jumper wire
  • Inserting crimped and empty contacts into various types of connectors, ensuring proper seating and checking retention
  • Tightening connector assemblies and back shells to torque specifications
  • Installing miscellaneous types and widths of tape by machine or by hand to meet specified overlap requirements
  • Installing miscellaneous types of bands to secure shield and/or metal over braiding to connectors and back shells
  • Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of test equipment
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic hand tools required
  • Ability to use measuring tools to measure lengths accurately and precisely is required
  • Ability to assemble products according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings/diagrams
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • J-STD-001 Soldering Certification and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Technician or in a similar role for 2 or more years.
