Manufacturing engineer will oversee the electrical mechanical systems of a manufacturing plant, from installation to troubleshooting. They are called upon to improve the plant's efficiency, upgrade to new technologies, repair equipment, increase production, and reduce manufacturing issues, including bottlenecks.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead, motivate, drive results, and facilitate learning for members to achieve safety, quality, productivity, customer service, environmental, and sustainability results. In conjunction with this, they will be responsible for building leaders and members along with enhancing ownership and personal accountability for the future. The candidate will own and drive strategic direction for the environmental, project implementation, facility infrastructure, and production uptime for the Austin facility.
Job responsibilities: - Lead and coach the departments of engineering, utilities, and maintenance teams with the development of strategic direction for the facility.
- Lead efforts to develop and implement safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service throughout the functional areas you coach as well as act as a resource and ownership driver to the rest of the facility.
- Lead the asset management program for the facility to include maximum utilization, replacement, upgrading, maintenance, and tracking.
- Lead strategic direction for all utilities to include ammonia refrigeration systems, wastewater, infrastructure, production lines and support areas within the facility.
- Own the development of technically sound innovation solutions to the plant operational problems.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production on problem solving activities, cost reduction, initiatives, and performance efficiency improvements.
- Lead or assist cross-functional teams in implementing process, packaging, or infrastructure projects in support of new product introductions, or internal processes to enhance the capability of our production lines (equipment efficiency, flexibility, and capacity).
- Ability to travel 15% of the time
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (EE/ME)
- 5 years of industrial experience preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
- Good analytical skills: Ability to troubleshoot Mechanical/Electrical systems and processes.
- Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
- Knowledgeable in sanitary design principles and specifications.
- Committed to personal growth as well as the proven ability to lead and develop those around you to higher levels of ownership, responsibility, and service.
- Proven ability to successfully facilitate projects in a team-based environment and meeting timelines.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Highly motivated, self-directed and the ability to multi-task.
- Willingness to work off-shifts and weekends to support projects and processes.
- Ability to think on one's feet, make decisions on the fly, and react to ever-changing situations.
- Working knowledge and experience with MS office, MS project, and AutoCad. (SolidWorks would be a plus)
- Relevant experience with Programable logic controllers, HMI systems, and various Motion control system. Allen Bradley/Rockwell experience a must.

Preferred Qualifications: - PMP Certification.
