In this role you will :
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the provision of supplies, equipment, and other goods utilizing the best method of procurement in the right volume for the correct use in the most effective manner possible to decrease or maintain costs. The Purchasing Agent reports directly to the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs weekly supply inventory in cooperation with area managers, staff nurses, business office clerks, orderlies, and maintenance personnel. Establishes PAR levels for all areas.
  • Orders equipment and instrumentation as approved by the Administrator, Medical Director or Director of Nursing as applicable.
  • Works with maintenance personnel in developing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Process equipment for repairs, as needed.
  • Process returns related to purchases and is responsible for the details of shipping.
  • Works with the biomedical engineer on biomedical checks.
  • Maintains files of appropriate paperwork for PO's orders, invoices, packing and receiving reports, and repair orders approved by the Administrator/Director of Nursing/Business Office Manager/OR Manager/Pre-op Manager/PACU Manager.
  • Maintains inventory manuals for equipment.
  • Assists Administrator/Director of Nursing/ Business Office Manager in monthly inventory/budget review meetings.
  • Works with Administrator/Director of Nursing/ Business Office Manager in developing annual materials management/ budget goals.
  • Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services required by the facility.
  • Abides by the company ethics program.
  • Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
  • All other duties as assigned
About You:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with equipment and supplies used in delivering care to the Surgery Center patients
