Southern Illinois Health is Hiring an Epic OpTime/Anesthesia EHR Application Analyst Near Carbondale, IL

Overview:

Position Summary
The EHR Applications Analyst will have primary responsibility for requirement
gathering, design, build/configuration, testing, validation and ongoing support of
their assigned Epic application(s) and third-party systems related to those
applications. The Analyst will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining indepth
knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring/utilizing knowledge
of the operational workflows to be implemented with the Epic system. The
Analyst will be responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design,
development, implementation, adoption, communication, maintenance and
evaluation of existing or new functionality related to Epic and related information
systems. Responsible for managing projects related to Epic and related thirdparty
systems. Participates in on-call rotation including weekend and after-hours
coverage as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Job Roles
Safety
o Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
Record Keeping
o Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other
documents, using the ITSM system as required.
Process Improvement
o Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in
unit/department based programs that supports the systems process
improvement goals.
o Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
Role Specific Responsibilities
o Understanding of the organization, users and workflow in the analysts
assigned area.
o Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, manage issues,
oversight and implementation of project plans. Work with Epic TS and
related Epic Application Analysts to manage complex issues and
optimization.
o Ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the
organization and user community, which directly influences how the
system will be built.
o Thoroughly review, analyze and test every system change; follow proper
change control processes.
o Assists in the development, implementation, education, evaluation,
maintenance and coordination of Epic and related applications.
o Assists with and/or develops tip sheets or training documentation for new,
or changes to current, workflows; communicate with department
leadership and application users any specific information related to their
application.
o Maintain an Epic user web account to access group discussions, white
papers, training documents, new version training material and release
notes. Attends webinars, seminars and workshops to learn about new
developments and changing technology trends; may participate in testing
new vendor provided software in a test environment for possible use by
the health system.
o Maintain contacts with Epic partner and related vendors; attend product
demonstrations, user group meetings, Epic sponsored webinars, and/or
arrange to acquire and install system upgrades.
o Responsible for the coordination and completion of assigned projects,
including project definition, assignment of task responsibilities, setting
deadlines, and all other aspects of project management.
o Performs other related work as required.
o Trains and mentors team members.
o Strives to adhere to SIH Commitment to Care and ITS Core
Competencies.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience
Associates degree in Business, IT or Healthcare Related field required or 2 years
of IT or healthcare experience in lieu of degree
Licenses and Certification
Relevant job related certifications with Epic application certification within 90
days of hire, as applicable
Physical Activities
Functional demands of the job are sedentary, requiring very light energy level
Working Conditions
Works in a heated, air-conditioned office with routine office noise or remotely as
per SY-HR-427. Operates a personal computer and general office equipment.
Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations and limited exposure
to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions.
