Salary: Depends on Qualifications Location : Cape Girardeau, MO Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202400127 Division: Finance and Administration Department: Human Resources Opening Date: 05/23/2024 Position Summary HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST Human Resources Full Time Primary Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and coaching to assigned areas on issues related to all areas of human resources management including: talent acquisition, employee relations, talent, performance management, total rewards, general payroll questions and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures
Coordinates employment processes for assigned areas, including composition and placement of job advertisements, recruiting functions, applicant tracking via NEOGOV, pre-screening of application materials, and generation of salary analyses
Coordinates a structured new hire onboarding process for newly hired faculty and staff in assigned areas
Oversees annual benefits open enrollment processes for assigned areas, including presentations regarding plan changes and enrollment schedules, assuring annual enrollments are processed timely, and provide customer service support
Coordinates the services of temporary workers by responding to departmental requests for temporary staffing, screening, placing temporary staff, contacting staffing agencies for temporary services when needed, and preparing payment requests for payment of temporary service
Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of human resources functions
Demonstrated ability to work professionally with all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and handle situations with sensitivity, tact and in a confidential manner
Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
