Description

Coordinate and perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the Imaging department utilizing computerized medical imaging equipment.

This position will travel between both Fayetteville and Stockbridge

Essential Job Functions

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound and/or x-ray procedures using independent judgment to provide quality patient care while consistently displaying outstanding judgment in film critique.
• Operate a variety of radiographic and support equipment, including radiographic and ultrasound as well as support equipment.
• Protects patients from various safety factors.
• Selects the proper imaging protocols based on the ordered procedure.
• Coordinates and prioritizes procedures during the work day to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
• Ensures that the Imaging department is adequately supplied, checks equipment status daily and reports any problems that could change the work flow.
• Demonstrates competence to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served by the department.
• Appropriately adapts assigned provider assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific and other developmental needs of each person served.
• Upon completion of a procedure, the technologist ensures that the images have been formatted correctly, films/CD printed if needed, sent to the PACS and the chart has been given to the radiologist
• Maintains Quality Control/Quality Assurance in accordance with ACR and TDH standards and regulations. Assures that all documentation is accurately recorded and kept in an organized manner susceptible to instant inspection if needed.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills

• High school graduate
• Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences, Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
• Must have registration by American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for vascular procedures and meet continuing education requirements at all times.
• Three years experience in a clinical radiology clinic, with one year as an ultrasound technologist.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

• At least two years experience as a clinical ultrasound technologist desired.
• At least two years experience as a clinical vascular ultrasound technologist desired.
