The Cloud Engineer II role is part of the Cloud Ecosystem team in Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations. The role works with the Senior Manager – Cloud Operations & SRE and is responsible for supporting the operations and reliability of our cloud ecosystem. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be on SRE team responsible for ensuring implementing monitoring solutions across the cloud ecosystem and developing preventative measures to reduce incidents.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help craft the transformation of infrastructure and operations products and services to the entire McDonalds environment.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Automate the provisioning of cloud environments through the concept of pipeline engineering using Terraform, Chef, Puppet and other tools.
• Research, analyze, design, develop and support high-quality automation workflows in the cloud platform that are appropriate for business and technology strategies.
• While embedding with teams, strategize, consult, and prototype alongside other engineers to implement standard methodologies and solutions for applications using CI/CD and the cloud.
• Remain up-to-date on new technologies and architecture and propose ways to use them in current and upcoming projects.
• Build supervising strategy and incident response strategy for cloud operations team
• Assist in creation of preventative automation and standards to reduce production infrastructure incidents
• Implementation of supervising tooling
• Lead and facilitate the creation of compliance automation and policy-as-code to streamline cloud governance.
• Participation in major incident management
• Strive to provide internal and external customers with excellent customer service and world-class service.
• Effectively communicate project health, risks and issues to the program collaborators, sponsors and management teams.
• Resolve most conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently but intuitively call out sophisticated or consequential issues to senior management.
• Identify and direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.
• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, adaptability, cost, and security.
• Work well in an agile environment
• Build, implement, and support tools that improve customer experience.
