Description

Essential Job Functions

Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with all customers and co-workers.

Collaborate with team members on day-to-day Systems, and Cloud operations.

The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, and managing virtualizations systems like VMware, cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, Endpoint management systems like Intune, and security and compliance around systems, monitoring, and alerting, to ensure high availability, security, and scalability of IT services. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure:

Assist with monitoring network performance and alerting.

Cloud Infrastructure:

Deploy and manage cloud resources, on platforms like Azure, and AWS.

Migrate on-premises services and applications to the cloud.

Implement cloud security measures, including identity and access management (IAM) and encryption.

Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency.

Virtualization:

Installing, configuring, and maintaining corporate virtualization technologies and environments.

Set up and manage on-premises virtual machines and containers for resource optimization and automations.

Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting any issue that arise.

Security and compliance:

Ensure system and cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and industry regulations.

Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and patch management.

Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Automation and scripting:

Create automation scripts and workflows to streamline infrastructure provisioning and management.

Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system and cloud configurations.

Prepare reports on System performance, capacity planning, and security audits.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and cybersecurity experts.

Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation for IT projects.

Vendor Management:

Collaborate with cloud service providers and technology vendors for procurement and support.

Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions.

Other Job Functions

Develop and maintain system and configuration backups. 

Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans. 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system and cloud configurations. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Implement and enforce network security protocols and access controls. 

Monitor system performance and optimize efficiency. 

Proficient in scripting and automation tools. 

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. 

Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends. 

Physical/Mental/Sensory

Requirements

Able to lift to 50 lbs.

Able to stand and sit for various lengths of time.

Able to bend/twist and reach a limited amount of time.

Working Conditions

Mostly office environment including:

Light Manufacturing Environment

Little to Medium noise level

Moderate temperature ranges

Minimum RequiremenQualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is preferred.

Relevant certifications such as but not limited to Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud services, and virtualization technologies.

Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends
