POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Teacher will plan, organize, conduct and deliver a quality age-appropriate program for children. The Assistant Teacher will work as part of the Early Childhood Team to deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.?

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger to handle or feel objects, tools, controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and taste and smell?

• Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions

• Required to lift 10-50 pounds?

• Specific vision abilities are required including accurate sight up close, distant, peripheral and focus?

• Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high?

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Qualified according to State guidelines??

• Certified in first aid and CPR?

• Familiar with quality standards and State Guidelines??

• Knowledgeable in High/Scope and COR Curriculum?

• Knowledgeable in Qualistar and licensing standards
