Liftoff is Hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer, ML Platform Near Redwood City, CA

As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Machine Learning Platform team at Liftoff, you will:
- Design, engineer, & implement reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient systems to support training and serving deep learning models which utilize state-of-art ML modeling techniques.
- Adopt or build new technologies and tools to help increase velocity of ML modeling teams.
- Help shape our long-term ML Platform strategy and roadmap.
- Work with an experienced team of ML, Software, and Infrastructure engineers who are building our next generation ML platform for Liftoff.
- Utilize vendor-based products (AWS, etc.), open-source technologies (PyTorch, PySpark, etc.) and custom in-house tooling.
Requirements:
- Very strong coding ability (any backend language)
- Strong core CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, architecting systems)
- 8 years of industry experience
- 3 years Machine Learning tooling or platforms, in particular when applied to large scale problems
- Experience with NVIDIA Triton, PyTorch, or PySpark in particular is a big plus
- Experience with Go and Python is a plus
- Experience working in high-growth startup atmosphere is a plus
- A passion for quality and excellence, and the ability to temper it when necessary to ship
- Solid technical leadership skills
Location:
This role eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NV, NY, PA, OR, TX, UT, and WA. We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and NYC.
Compensation:
Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role:
SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $290,000 - $315,000
Seattle/Olympia, Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $265,000 - $290,000
All other cities and towns in our approved states: $250,000 -$275,000
