Join our dynamic team at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital and make a difference as a Recreational Therapist Supervisor! This role is instrumental in leading and supervising the Recreational Therapy team and involves overseeing the planning and implementation of activity therapy services and guiding the therapeutic staff. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you'll provide continuous care, interaction, and positive role modeling to patients, fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth. Responsible for observing and applying sound judgment in patients' physical and mental conditions/needs.
Document and communicate changes in the patient's appearance, behavior, and ability to work towards treatment plan goals.
Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development/deficiency.
Plan and implement activity therapy for the assigned patient caseload, contributing to treatment plans with specific goals and interventions in therapeutic activities.
Model and teach patients appropriate social, coping, and stress management techniques.
Supervise and manage recreational therapy staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance.
Organize and oversee the scheduling and assignment of tasks and responsibilities within the recreational therapy department.
Monitor and enhance the quality of therapeutic activities based on patient feedback and treatment outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements and standards.
Manage resources efficiently, including the budget for therapy materials and staff resources.
Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Art, Music, Recreational Therapy, Humanities, or Movement Therapy from an accredited college or university is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Licensure: Certification or licensure in one of the following disciplines: Art, Occupational, Recreational, or Music Therapy, as recognized by the state of Washington and/or a national governing body; Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required.
Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and with understanding of mental illness preferred.
Additional Skill Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of CPI prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 30 days of employment. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:
This is a full-time role, and the expected compensation range is $33.00 - $45.00 hourly. We're eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Recreational Therapist Supervisor!
