Corporate Accountant Job Summary
The Corporate Accountant position will be responsible for the day to day accounting for a growing real estate company that specializes in self-storage. The position requires strong communication skills and innovative thinking to communicate with and educate, finance and non-finance personnel on financial policies and procedures and reporting requirements. This is an In-Office position and will be required to work in our beautiful office in Ladera Ranch.
Salary: starting at between $75,000 - $85,000 discretionary annual bonus
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Assists with preparation of the monthly financial statement consolidation and quarterly financial statement package for senior management;
- Coordinates and reviews monthly reporting from Property Accountants;
- Assists with SEC filings;
- Produces journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.;
- Supports integration of new acquisitions;
- Prepares supplemental financial schedules;
- Assists in the preparation of internal reports for variance analysis;
- Assists with external financial statement audits;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable work experience
- Minimum 1 - 3 years' experience in Public Accounting and/or private company accounting experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Be detailed oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company
- Possess creative thinking and ability to resolve issues
- Must be hands-on and work effectively in a demanding environment
- Be able to adapt quickly to change
- Experience with Great Plains and ERP systems a plus
- Real Estate experience a plus
