Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of the month-end close, month-end financial statements, reconciliation of investment activity, quarterly investment valuations and summaries, cash projections, bank reconciliations and accounts payable and receivables for various high net worth individuals, trusts, foundations and investment holding entities. Oversee and review various equity fund and other investment reports.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs bookkeeping functions, month-end close, reconcile internal accounts, journal entries and issue financial statements in QuickBooks Enterprise and Online for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, and investment holding entities Records and reconciles all activity, including investment activity from brokerage and custody accounts; post journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain general ledger and any related inter-company schedules.
  • Analyzes monthly, quarterly, annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately.
  • Reconciles bank statements.
  • Verifies daily bank and brokerage account cash activities, monitor cash balances, prepare wire transfers to fund accounts as needed for expenses, donations, and investment activities.
  • Accounts payable and receivable for various entities, including auditing check requests for accuracy, tax estimates and liabilities.
  • Maintain client specific schedules and reports, and coordinate with clients' vendors (lawyers, accountants, other third parties) as necessary.
  • As needed, maintain W-9s for 1099 processing and documentation for household employees: Processes payroll
  • Provides and maintains cash flow projections.
  • Prepares and reviews annual budgets and budgets to actual.
  • Provides pro forma and other financial reports and assists on projects for clients.
  • Works directly with and provides a high-level of personal financial services to high-net-worth individuals and families with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Manages client projects and works on special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting; Masters in Accountancy/CPA/or pursuing CPA a plus.
  • 6-8 years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Family office Services experience highly preferred; public accounting candidates considered.
  • Client service focused.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and in a group environment.
  • Should be organized, detail oriented and flexible in adjusting well to change.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure with the ability to prioritize deadlines, ability to multi-task.
  • Must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Experience with ProSystem Engagement, and/or Axcess
  • Highly analytical and ready to make immediate impact in a dynamic environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
