Purpose

To prepare and assist in the preparation of food and/or routine cleaning and dishwashing or to provide service in a child care center.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing foods and/or performing cleaning tasks in a kitchen. Prepares foods for cooking. Cleans kitchen equipment.
• Cleans and pares vegetables and fruits.
• Cooks simple foods.
• Assists in cooking.
• Informs supervisor of needed supplies.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans and other cooking equipment.
• Performs related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Food Handler's Registration Certificate as issued by the Austin-Travis County Health Unit.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to operate standard cooking machinery and equipment.

Salary Range

$37,443

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heat and equipment common in a kitchen.
• When required, ability to lift.

Work Shift

• M-F, between the hours of 6:00am an 4:00pm
