Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our team. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of our solar products, from conception to launch and beyond. This role requires a deep understanding of solar technology, market trends, and customer needs, as well as strong project management and communication skills.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work within the R&D team to develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the Silfab's goals and market demand.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to plan and execute on new product launches.
  • Lead the organization through product launches following Silfab's New Product Introduction Process while continually seeking feedback to improve the process.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of solar products, from initial concept to end-of-life, including product launch, updates, and discontinuations.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to gather customer feedback, understand market dynamics, and drive product improvements.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards (e.g. UL 61730, IEC 61215) and help coordinate any third-party reliability or performance testing that may be required.
  • Analyze product performance metrics, sales data, and customer feedback to evaluate product effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, finance, engineering, and operations to drive product success and achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with finance and supply chain teams to develop a cost analysis and overall business case for future products and continue to evaluate product profitability post product launch.
  • Continue to identify opportunities to reduce product cost and increase profitability.
  • Participate in the selection of strategic suppliers for components and materials.
  • Continually assess market competition with comparisons to competing products
  • Work with sales and marketing to develop and maintain product marketing material for use online, for in person sales, and at technical conferences/trade shows.
  • Provide support to Sales and Marketing team to develop and maintain customer relationships for existing or future products
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending technical conferences/trade shows, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required
Skills
  • Strong understanding of solar products and technology
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels within the company.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively allocate resources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and aggressive timelines.
  • Knowledge of solar industry standards and regulations, such as IEC and UL certifications, is preferred.

  • $90,000 - 120,000/yr DOE
