WHAT WE NEED:

E&I Jr. Engineer

The E&I Jr. Engineer is responsible for specialized engineering in the field of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) to ensure the successful execution of projects while adhering to applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. This position involves planning, designing, and overseeing E&I engineering systems within a wide range of projects. The E&I Jr. Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions and meet project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering system designs, including equipment selection, sizing, and layout.
  • Prepare detailed E&I design deliverables e.g., circuit and schematic diagrams, control panel layouts, MCC layouts, cable routes, etc. done in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ensure technical aspects of work are performed in accordance with applicable regulations or project plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define project goals, scope, and requirements.
  • Participate in project planning activities, such as scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure successful execution.
  • Provides technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.
  • Create and review, and report on E&I technical scope performance against baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with E&I engineering systems and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, and project managers, to integrate engineering systems into overall project designs.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and contractors, to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the completed project package if licensed.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in E&I engineering technologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as conferences and workshops, to enhance your knowledge and skills.

WHO WE NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, engineering principles, and standards relevant to E&I engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as NFPA, NEC, and IEEE.
  • 3-8 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in a project-based environment.
  • Experience with electrical design and equipment for industrial and utility facilities with low, medium, and high voltage systems.

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in instrument sizing software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a passion for staying updated with emerging trends and technologies in E&I engineering.
