Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school, seeks a per diem Daily Substitute Teacher for our Middle School division in all subjects for grades 5 8. Qualified applicants with possess a relevant college degree, some experience working with children, and certified in CPR/First Aid. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in using digital and online platforms for both in person and remote instruction.

Job Responsibilities:

* Responsible for covering classes when the regular teacher is absent or unavailable

* Delivering lessons and lectures in an organized and effective manner

* Maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment that is conducive to learning

Qualifications:

* Relevant college degree and/or experience working with Middle School aged children

* CPR/First Aid certification

* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the classroom environment

Work Schedule:

* Must be available during school hours, which are 8:00am 4:00pm.

* Due to the nature of the school environment, there may not be substitution possibilities every day.

* Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based, and this position requires teaching in person.
