The Youth First Care Program is a grant-funded service that is available to students and their families at no cost. Because our therapists are embedded directly in the school and services are free of charge to our clients, we can address many of the common barriers to therapy like transportation and cost.

What to expect.

The School Mental Health Therapist will be embedded in the Prince George’s County Public School systems to provide student support and mental health services.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Conducting diagnostic evaluations and subsequent Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs).
• Maintaining proficiency in child-oriented
• Facilitating skill development and student support groups.
• Providing crisis intervention and stabilization.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation.

• One of the following at time of hire:
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
• Obtaining necessary insurance validations and authorizations as required.
