The Sheppard Pratt School - Towson is a year round therapeutic educational and residential program for adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral problems who require a self-contained therapeutic educational setting. Residents are referred by the Multi-Agency Review Team (MART) or through the community. The Sheppard Pratt School-Towson is located in the same complex as the Mann Residential Treatment Center (Mann RTC) and is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.
Responsibilities:

• Assist assigned students in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the residential and school setting
• Provide additional structure, instruction, and supervision in support of the student's Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) and the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Serve as a member of assigned treatment team
• Actively participate in the daily activities and functioning of the overall residential and educational programs
• Bachelor's prepared Education/Treatment Assistants may be responsible for leading classroom activities in the absence of the supervising teacher

Requirements:

• High school diploma; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have at least 1 month of proven related classroom support experience working as an instructional assistant; experience working with adolescents with severe emotional/behavioral disturbances strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license at time of appointment and must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a school vehicle
