Sheppard Pratt is Hiring a Bilingual Community School Aide (School Based Services - Montgomery County, MD) Near Gaithersburg, MD

Linkages to Learning is a comprehensive, school-based prevention and intervention program located in elementary and middle schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. Having the program integrated into schools helps families secure needed resources and navigate the complexities of the behavioral health and social service systems.

What to expect.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver tailored youth development services directly to middle school-aged students. You will strategically develop activities that promote a sense of purpose, nurture self-care practices, facilitate healing, and foster a culture of mutual peer support.

Bilingual English/Spanish required. Hourly pay starting at $23/hr. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring academic performance, participation in school activities, and school attendance.
  • Providing peer mediation and peer conflict resolution.
  • Collecting and evaluating data to determine program effectiveness.

You will also organize youth groups with guest speaker attendees to talk with students about a variety of topics including social skills, stress management, social adjustment, anti-bullying, and drug and alcohol awareness and resistance. Youth groups will be held weekly after school, and once a month on Saturday.

What we need from you.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a human services or social science field.
  • Two years of experience providing community- or school-based programming to youth.
  • Must be able to demonstrate written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible 40-hour work week.
  • A driver’s license with 3-point or less and access to an insured vehicle.
