Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a crucial role in applying the nursing process, overseeing clinical practices, engaging in research, providing consultations, facilitating interdepartmental collaboration, offering educational support, demonstrating leadership, and managing patient care across the healthcare journey from prevention to post-discharge. The Nurse Practitioner exercises independent decision-making while working closely with board-certified/eligible physicians to deliver expert patient care.

• Supervise clinical practice and patient care management, including consultations and surgery preparation
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal patient care
• Handle outpatient clinic responsibilities and engage with interdisciplinary team members

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year as a Nurse Practitioner in an acute hospital setting (preferred)
• At least three (3) years of nursing experience (preferred)
• Prior experience in cardiac or cardiac surgery highly desirable

Educational/Licensure/Certifications:

• Master of Nursing Degree
• Graduate of a California Board of Registered-approved Nurse Practitioner program
• Active California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License (or eligible to obtain)
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Current DEA license (schedule 2-5) and NP Furnishing Number
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
