ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Prep and serve meals for campers and staffCreate a well-balanced menu that is ready and prepared 2 weeks in advanceAccommodate dietary needs with similar menu substitutionsOrder food using established purchase order systemsMaintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining hallFollow industry standards for food prep, storage, and handlingDirect kitchen assistantsEnsure eating areas are cleaned in-between mealsWork with counselors using the Kitchen Request systemEnsure dishes are cleaned and put away properly between mealsMaintain a high level of professionalism between themselves and other staff membersOther duties as assigned LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES : Communication and Influence Listens and expresses self effectively and in a way that engages, inspires, and builds commitment to the Ys causeCollaboration Creates sustainable relationships within the Y and with other organizations in service to the communityFunctional Expertise Executes superior technical skills for the roll Critical thinking and decision making Makes informed decisions based on logic, data, and sound judgment QUALIFICATIONS : Must be at least 21 Years old and a high-school graduateMust have or be willing to obtain ServSafe CertificationMust be able to work well with othersHave experience cooking in a similar settingMust be flexible and organized WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
