Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Network Engineer - Security to join my client's team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in collaborating with Information Security and Networking Architects to implement and maintain network security solutions. You will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the stability, integrity, and security of network systems, while also contributing to various security-related projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Project, configure, implement, and maintain all network-related security platforms and software to uphold the stability and security of network systems.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of application control, firewall, SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection/prevention, and other network component policies in collaboration with Information Security and Cyber Security Risk Engineers.
• Ensure adherence to network security best practices through auditing router, switch, firewall configurations, and monitoring, in compliance with standards set by the Chief Information Security Officer.
• Lead periodic vulnerability testing and collaborate on remediation projects with the Information Security team.
• Respond to security-related events, support remediation efforts, and participate in security incident response.
• Coordinate and oversee log analysis for company managed services offerings to meet customer policy and security requirements.
• Maintain network security devices to enable proactive defense within a SOC environment, providing protective monitoring to multiple commercial customers.
• Collaborate with Networking and Information Security teams to maintain security devices and demonstrate practical experience in managing various network security components.
• Work with customers to establish and enforce appropriate policy and signature rules, including the development of custom network intrusion detection/heuristic signatures and rules.
• Ensure operational readiness and security of customer devices in collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Proven experience in network security testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of network security best practices and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, content filters, NIDS/NIPS, proxy servers, and other security devices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Ability to analyze and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.
