Client is looking for a Junior Software Engineer with 6 years of experience in Java development and 3-4 years of Spark/Scala development experience. IF CANDIDATES DO NOT HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6 YEARS OF JAVA DEVELOPMENT AND MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS SPARK/SCALA DEVELOPMENT, THEY WILL BE REJECTED. This position is a 12 month contract requiring the individual to relocate if not located in Phoenix, AZ to work a hybrid schedule (onsite every Tues/Wed/Thus). Candidates MUST work ON W2. There will be 2 rounds of interviews and the first round includes a coding session over WebEx. If the candidate is taking external help or falsifying their experience, they will be immediately rejected

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Advanced and demonstrable analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Professional programming experience in an enterprise setting
• High volume transactional environment experience
• 6 years of software development experience as a Java developer
• 6 years of software development experience as a Spark/Scala developer
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing large scale distributed data intensive platforms with high resiliency, availability, and reliability.

Desired Skills:

• NoSQL databases such as MapR DB, HBase, Cassandra
• Big Data Components/Frameworks such as Hadoop (MapR), Spark, Yarn
• Big Data querying tools such Hive
• Experience in Big Query and Cloud computing.
