Job Title: Activities and Volunteer Coordinator I
Job Purpose
The Activities and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for implementing and supporting activities at various sites associated with Serving Seniors. This position will directly support the Activities and Volunteer Team with all aspects of running activities such as educational, music, art, crafts, drama, and exercise programs. The Activities and Volunteer Coordinator will also provide direct support for the Serving Seniors’ volunteer program.

Required Qualifications:
Education
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience (coordinating events, hosting activities and volunteers in either a non-profit or public sector setting)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Effective time management and prioritization
• Presentation Skills – the ability to create flyers and visual presentations.
• Effective oral and written communication (includes being an active listener).
• Comfortable with public speaking.
• Comfortable working with older adults.
• Experience in leading, and interacting with, both large and intimate groups.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or tenuous situations.
• Cultural competency – demonstrated ability to have successful interactions and work with diverse populations.
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
• Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions.
• Comfortable and competent in learning new technology.
• Highly motivated and can motivate/encourage others.
• Flexible approach to work assignments.
• Telephone Etiquette.
• Organized and detail-oriented (Macro and micro details of a project).
• Can work independently and collaboratively.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
• Position is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
• Requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes.
• Must have reliable transportation available for work-related purposes, a valid California driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as job duties may require.
• Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes.
• Must have reliable transportation available for work-related purposes including but not limited to frequent travel to and from various Serving Senior sites throughout the county.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
Schedule:Tue - Sat. 8am to 5pm
Pay : $22 per hr, depending on experience
